Join us on Sunday 18 September 2022 for a round trip of war memorials and ex and active bases starting at Stibbington Diner on the A1 with a lunch stop at Alconbury Weald.
Stibbington Diner has been located at it’s current site for decades. Just to the north is the home of the Nene Valley Railway. If you want to grab something to eat before the run get there early as it opens at 8am on Sunday, but we will be leaving at 9am.
We will be visiting a number of locations before visiting Alconbury where we’ll be stopping at Bohemia Alconbury Weald, also known as the Watch Office for lunch. The grade 2 listed building was the first permanent structure on the former airfield and served as RAF Alconbury’s central operations hub during the second world war, used to oversee the missions leaving the airfield counting them in and out.
